Athar Hussein Rizvi, known as Kaifi Azmi, (14 January 1919 – 10 May 2002) was one of the prominent progressive Urdu poets. He is remembered as the one who brought Urdu literature to Indian motion pictures.

1. Jhuki jhuki si nazar be-qarar hai ki nahin,
Daba daba sa sahi dil men pyaar hai ki nahin.

 

2. Bas ik jhijak hai yahi hal-e-dil sunane me,
Ki tera zikr bhi aaega is fasane me.

 

3. Insan ki khwahishon ki koi intiha nahin,
Do gaz zamin bhi chahiye do gaz kafan ke baad.

 

4. Basti men apni hindu musalman jo bas gaye,

Dubenge hum zarur magar nakhuda ke saath.

 

10. Rehne ko sada dahr men aata nahin koi,
Tum jaise gaye aise bhi jaata nahin.

 

11. Belche laao kholo zamin ki tahen,
main kahan dafn huun kuchh pata to chale.

 

12. Jo ik khuda nahin milta to itna matam kyuun,
Yahan to koi mera ham-zaban nahin milta.
